Hello friends, I am Autumn Cullen founder of The Gift of a Grandparent. I am happy to announce The Gift of a Grandparent is finally back! My family has greatly missed being able to love on our grandparents.
Some of you may know Nov 15, 2014 our fifth child, first daughter, was born with chromosomal abnormalities, which has caused numerous problems such as brain malformations, global developmental delay, the inability to eat by mouth, fragile bones, and many other health concerns. Story Grace has a dozen different doctors, four therapists, and likes to keep me hopping. As we learned to care for her I had to step away from The Gift of a Grandparent as I am sure you can understand.
Story Grace is a precious gift and brings so much joy to our lives and as we approach her third birthday I am feeling more in a position to slowly start our volunteer programs back up.
Thank you so much for your patience and understanding for my slow email response times and the almost two year hiatus from our volunteer programs. You have been so gracious with our family and many of you stepped up to fill roles I no longer was able to continue directing. I am looking forward to seeing grandparents and children engaged in mutually fulfilling relationships thus enriching the lives of both the young and old. I hope you will join us as we once again "adopt a grandparent."
The first Monday of every month we will be meeting at an assisted living home to brighten the lives of the residents confined within and in need of a little love and laughter. We cannot do this without you!
